Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster Returns gets royal treatment

The makers of the sequel to the 2011 release Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster, are going all out to ensure that the film exudes a royal vibe. For the launch event to reveal the first look of Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster Returns, the
team plans to create a set at the venue that resembles a grand
palace.

“The film is set against the backdrop of politics among the royal families. So the idea is to recreate the splendour and magnificence of Indian royalty,” says Rudrarup Datta, head of marketing and operations, Viacom18 Motion Pictures that has co-produced the film with Brandsmith Motion Pictures, he adds:

“A series of vintage cars have been specially sourced to bring the lead star cast into a venue reminiscent of a palace. It will be an experience to behold.”
Some of these vintage cars include the ’60s models of makes such as Buick, Avon, Ford, Chrysler and Cadillac.

“There are only a handful of dealers for such vintage cars. The makers handpicked these particular cars from them. A few of them have been brought from Jaipur for the event,” says the source.

The Tigmanshu Dhulia film is set in north India and revolves around a begum, her nawab and an ambitious young man. It stars Mahie Gill, Jimmy Shergill, Randeep Hooda. Actors Soha Ali Khan and Irrfan, who weren’t in the cast of the original film, will be part of this new installment.
Sahib Biwi and Gangster Returns will hit theatres on March 8.
